Spanish Scientists Eliminate Pancreatic Tumors in Mice — A Promising Breakthrough

Spanish scientists have announced a major breakthrough in pancreatic cancer research.
A team at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), led by Dr. Mariano Barbacid, successfully eliminated pancreatic tumors in mice using a triple-drug therapy. The treatment targets the KRAS oncogene pathway, a key driver behind most pancreatic cancer cases and long considered extremely difficult to treat directly.
Researchers describe the findings as one of the most significant advances in recent years.
However, experts stress that the study is still in the preclinical stage. The therapy has not yet been tested in humans, and clinical trials will be required to confirm safety and effectiveness.
While not yet a cure for people, the results offer new hope that future treatments could significantly improve survival rates for one of the deadliest forms of cancer.
