Orlando to Open World’s First “Slotharium” in 2026

Orlando is set to open what is being described as the world’s first Slotharium, called Sloth World, in February 2026.
The attraction will reportedly feature more than 40 sloths living freely inside a rainforest-style habitat. Instead of traditional cages or glass barriers, the concept promises an immersive environment where visitors can step into a tropical setting designed around the animals’ natural behaviors.
According to organizers, the focus will be on:
Conservation and education
Animal welfare and low-stress interaction
Strict visitor limits to protect the sloths’ comfort
Guests are expected to observe the animals climbing, eating, and resting in a space built entirely around their needs.
Supporters say the Slotharium represents a new direction in wildlife attractions — prioritizing ethical design and environmental awareness. Critics, however, often question whether close-contact experiences can truly remain stress-free for wild animals.
If successful, Sloth World could redefine how immersive animal exhibits are created in the future.
