On June 26, 2016, the Miller family was driving to church in Trinidad, Colorado, when their minivan was struck by an Amtrak train at an ungated rural crossing. 🚂
Five family members lost their lives — parents Stephen and Christina, and three of their daughters. Only 4-year-old Heidi survived, seriously injured.
In the months that followed, warning lights and crossing gates were installed at the site, now remembered by many locals as “Miller Crossing.” 🕊️
