RED DEAD REDEMPTION

Rating: 5/5 Outlaw Poetry

This is a teaser trailer review, not a full film.

The internet collectively lost its mind when the first teaser for Red Dead Redemption 2 dropped, featuring Keanu Reeves as a weathered Arthur Morgan. And honestly? The two-minute teaser is better than most full-length movies.

The teaser opens on a black screen. The sound of a harmonica, slow and mournful. Then a voice—gravelly, tired, familiar: “I gave you everything I had. And you still left me to die.” Cut to Keanu Reeves, sitting on a horse, overlooking a valley bathed in golden sunset. He’s older than we’ve ever seen him, with a thick beard and eyes that have seen too much death.

The teaser cuts between action—a train robbery, a shootout in the mud, a dramatic horseback chase—and quiet moments: Arthur writing in his journal, tending to a dying horse, sharing a silent drink with a fellow outlaw. The final shot: Arthur walking into a saloon, and the camera pans to a wanted poster on the wall: “ARTHUR MORGAN – DEAD OR ALIVE – $5,000 REWARD.” He looks at it, crumples it, and whispers: “Not today.”

The Verdict: If the full movie is half as good as this teaser, we’re looking at a masterpiece.

Final Thought: Some debts can only be paid in blood. And bullets
