THE LAST WITCH HUNTER 2

Vin Diesel returns as Kaulder, the immortal witch hunter with a tragic past and a really cool sword, in The Last Witch Hunter 2: The Coven Rising. The first film was a flawed but interesting world-builder. This one is… more of the same, but louder.

The plot follows Kaulder as he discovers that the Witch Queen’s death (in the first film) wasn’t the end. A new coven has risen, led by a mysterious figure who can raise the dead. When old enemies start crawling out of their graves seeking revenge, Kaulder must reunite with his old allies (including a returning Elijah Wood in a limited role) to stop the coven from resurrecting an ancient evil that makes the Witch Queen look like a garden-variety sorceress.

The world-building is still the highlight. The underground witch society, with its neon-lit speakeasies and magical politics, is visually fascinating. Diesel brings his usual gruff charm, but he seems tired, going through the motions. The action is adequate, and the villain is forgettable.

The Verdict: A perfectly fine fantasy action film that exists, entertains mildly, and then disappears from memory.

Final Thought: Diesel does Diesel things. Witches do witch things. You doze things.
