COBRA 2

Rating: 4/5 No Mercy

Nearly 40 years after the original Cobra made Stallone a one-man army, Cobra 2: King of the Ring brings the legend back for one last dance. And somehow, at 80 years old, Stallone still makes you believe he could break your neck with a fork.

The film finds Marion “Cobra” Cobretti living a quiet life in a small town, running a diner and trying to forget the blood on his hands. But when a new wave of crime—organized, ruthless, and led by a charismatic cult leader (a genuinely unsettling performance)—washes over the country, the police department has no choice but to dust off the old relic. Cobra doesn’t want to come back. But the killer leaves him no choice.

Stallone leans into his age. Cobra is slower, wiser, and more tired. He doesn’t run after cars; he waits for them to come to him. The action is brutal and practical, with minimal CGI. The famous line—”You’re the disease. I’m the cure.”—returns, and it hits differently now, carrying decades of weight.

The Verdict: A surprising, emotional, and violent swan song for one of cinema’s greatest tough guys.

Final Thought: Old habits die hard. Old cobras? They never die.
