A Morning Walk Turns to Terror: Community Rallies After Dog Attack on Men Men

What began as an ordinary morning walk quickly turned into a nightmare. Early today, as I was out with Men Men, a pit bull appeared suddenly and attacked without warning. It latched onto Men Men and refused to let go.

Panic set in. I tried everything — hitting it with my hands, striking it with an umbrella, kicking with all my strength — but nothing worked. The pit bull’s grip was relentless.

A passerby stopped his car and ran to help. Moments later, another neighbor rushed over. Soon, several people were gathered, trying desperately to separate the dogs, shouting for the owner — but no one appeared. Eventually, one neighbor managed to reach the pit bull’s owner by phone.

When the fight finally ended, Men Men was trembling but alive. At first, I hoped that his thick fur had protected him from serious harm. However, when we arrived at a local clinic, the veterinarian delivered devastating news: the wounds were deep, muscle had been torn, and immediate surgery was required.

Frantic calls followed — searching for a hospital equipped to handle the emergency. Time blurred as we drove from one clinic to another until, finally, we found a veterinary hospital that could operate. Men Men was rushed into surgery, his life hanging in the balance.

As I write this, we are waiting — hoping, praying, and holding onto faith that he will make it through. The kindness of strangers and neighbors today reminded me that even in moments of chaos, compassion can shine through.

Men Men has always been more than a pet — he is family. And now, all we can do is pray for his safe recovery and for justice to be served so that no one else has to experience such fear and heartbreak again.
