A Golden Birthday Marked by Courage and Hope

November 11 marked a special and deeply meaningful milestone for twin sisters Libby and Hannah as they celebrated their 11th birthday on the 11th day of the month. For their family, the date carried a sense of magic and gratitude, turning an ordinary birthday into a symbol of joy, resilience, and hope.

The month had already been filled with simple childhood pleasures—unexpected snow days, sweet treats, and laughter echoing through their home. These moments, often taken for granted, felt especially precious to a family that has learned how fragile and extraordinary life can be.

For Libby, the celebration held even greater significance. At just five years old, she was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. What followed were years of intensive treatment, hospital visits, and challenges that demanded more courage than any child should ever have to summon.

In late October, the family received news they had long prayed for: Libby’s latest scan was clear, confirming three full years cancer-free. The tumor, once given the nickname “Earl,” is gone. Today, Libby is thriving—running, swimming, learning, laughing, and spending time with her beloved dogs and cat.

Her recovery has not only restored her health but also reaffirmed her joyful spirit. Those closest to her describe a child who greets each day with enthusiasm and a sense of wonder shaped by everything she has overcome.

Libby’s journey has been shared by her family, whose unwavering support and faith carried them through the hardest moments. Together, they believe that brain cancer does not get the final word—neither for Libby nor for the many children still in treatment.

This birthday was more than a celebration of turning 11. It was a tribute to resilience, a reminder of the power of hope, and a testament to a young life that continues to shine with bravery and light.
