Side by Side, Into the Operating Room 🤍

My father and I are about to begin a 10-hour surgery 🏥. We’ve done this work for years, and we understand the demands — the physical endurance, the mental focus, the quiet weight of responsibility. Still, no matter how much experience time gives you, some moments feel heavier than others. Today carries that weight.

I trust his hands like I always have 🤝. Long before I stood beside him in an operating room, those hands guided me, taught me, and showed me what it means to stay steady when everything is at stake. Working together now, I see not just a colleague, but the man who shaped my discipline, my values, and my respect for this calling.

Before we scrub in, we pause. A quiet prayer 🙏 — for wisdom, for calm hearts, for strength that lasts through every hour ahead. We pray for the patient who has placed their life in our care, and for the clarity to do what must be done, moment by moment, without distraction or fear.

Then we step forward together. Side by side. Two generations sharing the same purpose, the same commitment to heal. I’m deeply grateful to stand beside my father today 🤍 — not just as a surgeon, but as a son.
If you have a kind word or a simple prayer, it would be truly appreciated.
