Missouri Neighbor Dies After Fatal Dispute That Claimed the Lives of Mother and Teenage Daughter

HOUSE SPRINGS, Missouri – Authorities say a neighborhood dispute in House Springs, Missouri, ended in tragedy after a confrontation between neighbors left a mother and her teenage daughter fatally injured. The man identified as the suspect later died from a self-inflicted injury, according to investigators.

Dispute Escalated Outside the Home

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred on July 25, when Robert Winkelman, 73, went to a neighboring residence following an ongoing disagreement involving noise at the property.

According to investigators, an argument developed outside the home before two members of the family—a 38-year-old woman, Jessica Lashly, and her 17-year-old daughter, Jersey Greer—were critically injured. Both were transported to local hospitals, where they later died from their injuries.

Third Person Escaped Without Injury

Authorities said a third person who was present during the incident was able to get away safely and was not physically injured.

Deputies responding to the scene located Winkelman outside a nearby residence with what officials described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Family members and friends have remembered Jersey Greer as a compassionate and talented teenager. Her twin sister described her as someone who always put others first, while classmates and teammates shared tributes honoring her kindness and positive spirit.

A community fundraiser has also been organized to help the family with funeral expenses and ongoing support.

Investigation Closed Following Suspect’s Death

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation established that the dispute stemmed from ongoing concerns involving activity at the neighboring residence.

Because the suspect died, authorities are not expected to pursue criminal prosecution. Officials have not released any additional information suggesting other individuals were involved.
