Ben Moser could’ve asked anyone to prom.
Instead, he honored a promise he made back in fourth grade 🤍.

That’s when he met Mary Lapkowicz 🎈. Mary has Down syndrome — but to Ben, she was never “different.” She was just Mary. A friend. Someone who deserved to be included, every single time.

Years passed. Life moved on.
Then one day, their paths crossed again ✨.

Ben remembered that childhood promise — and he didn’t hesitate.

He showed up with PROM balloons 🎈💫, and on May 8, 2015, he took Mary to prom like it was the most natural thing in the world 💃🕺.

No grand speech.
No need for attention.

When asked why he did it, Ben simply said:
💬 “Just be who you are — and do what’s right.”
