THIS is the terrifying moment a woman dangles from the 11th floor of a burning building before taking a desperate leap of faith.

After plucking up the courage, she leapt into the basket below

Her legs can be seen dangling over a 35ft drop as an inferno rages inside.

A firefighter a couple of floors below beckons her towards a ladder, but the gap is too big.

With the ladder only able to reach the ninth floor, the woman is suddenly left with no choice but to jump.

As the flames creep closer, she finally lets go and plummets towards the firefighter with out-stretched arms below.

Miraculously, she landed with a thud in the rescue basket before being lowered safely to the ground.

The extraordinary scenes unfolded in Berlin’s Friedrichshain district.

According to reports, 13 people suffered minor injuries in the blaze.

The incident came months after hundreds of people were forced to flee a German nightclub in March when a fire ripped through and destroyed much of the building.

Around 750 revellers fled K Club, in Kehl, as the blaze spread through the packed building.

The fire broke out at around 3.45am local time and quickly “spread over the whole building”, police said.

Around 750 people were inside the club at the time, but all managed to escape.

Three people were treated by emergency services for shock.

Firefighters battled the inferno as it tore through the nightclub, which is located in an industrial area of the city.

The blaze caused such extensive damage that most of the building was later demolished.

Kehl mayor Wolfram Britz said he was “happy and relieved that nobody was hurt” and praised the nightclub owner for ensuring an orderly evacuation.

The K Club is a popular destination for hip-hop fans and attracts hundreds of revellers each weekend.

German media reported that at least 80 firefighters, police officers and emergency medical personnel attended the scene.

One reveller told French newspaper DNA: “All of a sudden we heard, ‘There’s a fire!’ There were several announcements in German, French and English.”

An investigation was launched into the blaze, although its cause was not immediately clear.
