Quintuplets Spread ‘Quintmas’ Cheer: The Driskell Family’s Triumph Over Improbable Odds

The Driskell quintuplets in Kentucky are celebrating their first “Quintmas”—a portmanteau for Quintuplet Christmas—with an adorable photo shoot that documents their remarkable recovery from an extremely premature birth.
The five babies—Zoey Hart, Asher Blaze, Dakota Faith, Gavin Lane, and Hollyn Grace Driskell—are now six months old. Born at just 28 weeks gestation in May, each infant weighed less than three pounds. Their mother, Briana Driskell (30), underwent an emergency C-section that she later confirmed put her in danger of losing her own life.

The Decision to Defy Medical Odds
After more than a year of fertility treatments, the Driskells received the astonishing news of their pregnancy. “We found out on the same day that we were pregnant and there were five babies with healthy heartbeats,” said Briana. However, the joy was quickly tempered by grim medical advice. The doctor “strongly urged us to do selective reduction or terminate the pregnancy because he said the probability of us being able to have a healthy pregnancy and five healthy babies was slim to none.”
For Briana and her husband, Jordan Driskell (26), termination was not an option. Their deep commitment to having a family led them to reject the advice and proceed with the high-risk pregnancy.
Briana was placed on hospital bed rest at 22 weeks into her pregnancy to maximize the gestation period. Through meticulous medical care and her own fortitude, she and Jordan were finally able to bring all five babies home from the hospital in July, nearly two months after their birth, a milestone that occurred even before Briana’s original due date.
Full-Throttle Parenthood and Logistics of Five
Life for the Driskells is now a constant, high-speed cycle of care. The scale of their daily routine is staggering: the Driskells estimate they go through nearly 70 diapers and 35 bottles a day, and spend more than $1,000 per month on formula alone.
Jordan Driskell, who works as a painter, described their intense schedule: “As soon as I get home it’s full-throttle, feed a baby, change a baby, immediately feed a baby. As soon as you feed all five, you have to wash the bottles and then start feeding again.” The parents are in constant motion, coordinating the needs of five infants simultaneously.

Their First “Quintmas” Celebration
As the quintuplets’ first holiday approached, Briana knew she wanted to do something special for the family’s Christmas card. “I’ve been wanting a family for so long that I’m beyond excited to be able to send Christmas cards this year with my own babies,” she said.
Adding a personal touch, Briana hand made the babies’ onesies, which feature sayings ranging from “I’m the angel” to “I was naughty.” When asked if each baby was dressed in the onesie matching his or her temperament, she replied, “Oh yes.”
“We saw the different personalities from day one,” she said. “It was amazing how quickly they each developed their own personality.”
The family plans to sign their Christmas cards this year with a note that reads, “Merry Quintmas.” This sweet tradition encapsulates their joy, dedication, and the extraordinary miracle of their thriving family.
