A GEORGIA football star is in the hospital after a terrifying ATV accident.

Georgia star running back Dante Dowdell has been left with serious injuries following the ATV accident.

Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart shared on Tuesday that Dowdell will be out indefinitely after being injured in the ATC accident near his home in Picayune, Mississippi, per ESPN.

“We are praying for him,” Smart said.

Dowdell is now being treated at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, ESPN later reported.

Smart didn’t have specific information about the accident when speaking with the outlet.

“We don’t know when his return will be. I don’t know the specifics of it, to be honest with you,” he said.

“It was a recreational vehicle, and he had some serious injuries.”

Smart told other reporters that the accident was “serious enough that he’s gone from two hospitals,” Dawg Nation reported.

The veteran coach did confirm that Dowdell is “out of the really tough range” but added “as far as his complete health and coming all the way back, I don’t know what that looks like in terms of this year.”

Dowdell transferred to Georgia from Kentucky and was expected to be the backup to starter Nate Frazier on the running back depth chart.

The senior tailback spent the 2023 season with Oregon, Nebraska in 2024, and Kentucky last year.

Last campaign, he rushed for 560 yards and three touchdowns.

“He’s just a tremendous kid [with a] great family,” Smart said.

“We’re very supportive of them.

“Our players have been up there to see him. It’s a really tough deal.”

Fans sent their best wishes to Dowdell on social media.

“Prayers up for Dante, hope he’s able to make a full and speedy recovery,” one wrote on X.

“Wow! Sad! Let’s hope he’s back soon,” another commented.

“Sad news. I met Dante and his family when he was at Oregon. They were very nice folks. I hope he fully recovers…..” a third added.
