TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Two people are dead after a tree fell on a car Friday afternoon, according to the Tallahassee Police Department.

TPD said that around 5:15 p.m., multiple units from the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to the scene.

A large tree fell across Barclay Lane near Godfrey Place due to the severe weather, TPD said. The tree landed directly on the front seat area of the vehicle.

Life-saving measures were attempted on scene, but both occupants were pronounced dead, according to TPD.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area as crews investigate.
