John Wick 5: Chapter 5

Rating: 5/5 Baba Yaga Rises
Chad Stahelski returns for John Wick 5, a film that was supposed to be the end but instead proves that Baba Yaga is truly immortal. Keanu Reeves delivers another masterclass in action cinema.
The film picks up after the events of John Wick: Chapter 4. Wick is presumed dead, but of course, he’s not. He’s been living in hiding, trying to escape the life that consumed him. But when the High Table—fractured and desperate—hunts down the few allies he has left, Wick must come out of retirement for one final war.

Reeves is as perfect as ever, bringing both physicality and emotional depth to the role. The action is breathtaking, with a sequence in a neon-lit Osaka that rivals anything in the franchise. The supporting cast (including returning favorites and new faces) is stellar. The film ends with a final confrontation that is both brutal and beautiful.
The Verdict: A stunning continuation of the greatest action franchise of all time. John Wick is not done. Neither are we.
Final Thought: Baba Yaga is a myth. Myths don’t die.
