A Utah man is the third victim to die in the mass shooting at an Idaho In-N-Out burger joint over the weekend — which also left his wife severely injured, authorities revealed.

Dale Shultz, 66, of Salt Lake City, died from gunshot wounds and his wife, Reinette, remains in the hospital after 24-year-old shooter Chad Williams unleashed a barrage of bullets at the Twin Falls eatery Saturday afternoon.

The Schultzes were on their way home from a family reunion when the shooting unfolded, according to Utah news outlet KUTV 2, which reported that Reinette has already undergone two reconstructive surgeries.

“Reinette is now facing many surgeries and a long period of physical and emotional recovery,” a GoFundMe page posted Tuesday states.

“The trauma of this event has left her not only with medical bills, but also the overwhelming challenge of mourning Dale’s passing.

“Dale was a beloved member of the family, remembered for his kindness and the love he shared with Reinette. Their lives were changed in an instant,” reads the online fundraiser, which was created to help with the couple’s medical and funeral expenses.

Chad Williams Jr. has been identified as the gunman in a shooting that started at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Around 100 people gathered at a prayer vigil for Schultz at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Bountiful, Utah, Tuesday night, where attendees remembered him as a devoted husband, father of three and grandfather of two.

Friends also described him as a talented artist, an avid pickleball player and a “very genuinely humble man,” the outlet reported.

Ashley Garibay, a 23-year-old In-N-Out worker, and Christopher Claunch, 59, were also killed in the shooting, which ended after two armed good Samaritans shot back at Williams in the restaurant’s parking lot.

The gunman was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after two armed good Samaritans opened fire on him, cops said.
