Hospital worker sentenced after disturbing material found on his phone

An Ohio hospital worker has been sentenced to prison after investigators discovered a large collection of illegal material involving children on his phone.
Benjamin Naylor, 32, of Deer Park, was initially contacted by an online group posing as a 13-year-old boy. During their conversations, prosecutors said Naylor made disturbing comments about relationships with minors.
He was later confronted at the Cincinnati hospital where he worked and reportedly admitted to exchanging illegal material.
A subsequent investigation uncovered numerous images and videos involving children, including infants. A Cincinnati police detective described the evidence as among the most disturbing her unit had encountered.

Investigators also found online conversations in which Naylor allegedly expressed extreme views about adults having sexual relationships with minors.
Naylor pleaded guilty to eight counts involving sexually oriented material featuring minors and one count related to the illegal use of a minor or impaired person in a state of nudity.
He was sentenced to 7 to 9½ years in prison. He must also undergo treatment, register as a Tier II sex offender and serve five years of post-release supervision.
His defense attorney cited Naylor’s intellectual disability and legal blindness, but the judge stressed that those circumstances did not remove his responsibility for repeatedly making harmful choices.

The court ultimately held Naylor accountable for his actions and imposed a lengthy prison sentence.
