Harrison Ford Reprises Indiana Jones Role for Disney’s Wild New Adventure

Harrison Ford is putting the fedora back on.

The 84-year-old actor is set to reprise his legendary role as Indiana Jones in “Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent,” a new attraction coming to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.

Ford announced the project in a prerecorded message shown at the D23 fan event.

“Soon it’ll be time for his next ride,” Ford said, revealing that he will serve as the actual model for the Indiana Jones animatronic featured in the attraction — including Indy’s famous fear of snakes.

“I’m excited for you to see his next epic adventure,” Ford added.

The announcement immediately thrilled fans, many of whom praised Disney for allowing Ford’s version of Indiana Jones to remain part of the character’s future.

Ford has portrayed the adventurous archaeologist across five Indiana Jones films over more than four decades.

He first debuted as Indiana Jones in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, before returning for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in 1984, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989 and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008.

His most recent appearance came in 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which marked what many believed would be his final outing as the character.

But Ford apparently isn’t ready to leave Indy behind just yet.

The actor has remained remarkably active despite his age. Earlier this year, he received the Life Achievement Award at the 2026 SAG Awards, honoring his decades-long career.

During his acceptance speech, Ford joked that receiving a lifetime achievement award felt strange because he was only “at the halfway point” of his career.

“I’m still a working actor,” he said.

Ford is also widely known for playing Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise, but Indiana Jones remains one of his most recognizable roles.

Now, instead of seeing Ford simply return to the big screen, fans will reportedly get to experience a version of his iconic character brought to life as an attraction — with Ford himself serving as the model.

For longtime Indiana Jones fans, it appears the adventure isn’t over yet
