Haunting texts sent from missing woman’s phone after she went to CVS & never returned ten days ago as family slam cops

A FAMILY desperately looking for a missing loved one have received an update from cops about the mysterious texts which plunged them into a heartbreaking nightmare.

New Yorker Alisa Goods, 63, went missing during a trip to see a friend in Las Vegas on August 8 and hasn’t been seen since.

Alisa Goods has not been seen since August 8

Goods’ family are becomingly increasingly worried about the troubling situation

Goods regularly visits Sin City and stays with old friend Roger John at his apartment near Maryland Parkway and Tropicana Avenue.

John said Goods had visited several times and typically stayed with him when she came to town.

On the day of her disappearance, the grandmother reportedly left the apartment around 12.45pm to go to a nearby CVS, but never returned.

John said he initially wasn’t overly concerned because Goods sometimes stayed out for several hours while shopping or running errands.

As the hours passed, he repeatedly called and texted her without getting a response.

The worrying situation, however, soon spiraled with a series of out-of-character messages asking for money.

Requests to pay in Bitcoin soon followed.

But The U.S. Sun has been told by the Las Vegas Police department that investigators have ruled out that the messages came from someone involved in the retired woman’s disappearance.

Cops believe the texts came from “bad actors” who somehow gained access to the phone and stress the family have been informed.

“She is a missing person, but not endangered which happens a lot in Las Vegas,” a spokesman told The U.S. Sun. “The investigation is on-going.”

Goods’ cellphone, which the family said had stopped working, suddenly began sending messages several days after she disappeared.

Niece Alana Calloway said the messages immediately raised red flags.

The person using Goods’ phone reportedly claimed to be having problems with a bank card and asked the family for money.

The messages eventually escalated to a request for Bitcoin.

Alisa Goods is still missing after visiting a friend earlier this month

The U.S. Sun has been told alarming texts sent from Goods’ phone have been ruled out as being connected to her disappearance

Calloway said she tried to determine whether she was actually communicating with her aunt.

“That was alarming,” she recalled. “Every time the person texts back, it just felt like my heart was in my stomach because I knew it wasn’t my aunt.”

At one point, she mentioned a person named Kelly even though there is no one of that name in the family.

Calloway believed Goods would naturally question who she meant if she were really behind the phone.

Instead, the sender reportedly responded by asking for $50, which left the family fearing something was seriously wrong.

The family also found the reference to needing gas money suspicious because Goods did not have a car with her during the Las Vegas trip.

Goods’ son, Keven Newton, reportedly received similarly concerning messages seeking money.

Local police suggested it could have been someone attempting to exploit her disappearance.

John has also been putting up missing-person flyers around the neighborhood where Goods was last seen.

“This is not like her to just go missing,” Calloway said.

As the search continues, relatives have contacted hospitals, the coroner’s office and local jails in an effort to locate her.

But frustrations are growing with Las Vegas cops who, the family claim, have been slow to act after finally making contact with an investigator.

“It took him two days to file that report,” Calloway told abc7 of the officer her family member spoke to. “Two days from him filing that report, it took four days for it to fall in the lap of a detective?

“And then reaching out to the detective only for her to tell me my aunt wasn’t a priority. When she reached out to me this past Sunday, she kind of doubled down on it to let me know ‘listen, she is not a priority,’ and I just can’t understand it?

“How could a person go missing in your city while visiting on vacation and she not be a priority?”
