The Suicide Squad 2

Rating: 4/5 Bad Seeds, Worse Missions
James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad was a bloody, hilarious masterpiece that somehow made us care about a guy who fights with a starfish. The Suicide Squad 2: Redemption Tour brings the chaos back, and while it lacks the shock of the new, it delivers exactly what fans want: more violence, more heart, and more John Cena being perfect.
The plot? Amanda Waller (Viola Davis, still terrifying) has a new mission. A rogue AI developed by an enemy nation has gained sentience and is threatening to launch nuclear missiles. The only way to stop it? Insert a virus into its mainframe. The only people dumb enough to try? You guessed it.

John Cena’s Peacemaker returns as the reluctant leader, forced to wrangle a new batch of idiots including a teleporting pickpocket, a guy who can talk to rats (but only the ugly ones), and a former villainess seeking redemption. The action is classic Gunn—colorful, gory, and set to a killer soundtrack. The emotional beats land, particularly a scene where Peacemaker admits he’s tired of “making peace” the only way he knows how.
The Verdict: A worthy sequel that knows its audience and serves them well. It’s not as fresh as the first, but it’s just as fun.
Final Thought: Some people want to save the world. These people just want to go home.
