Carrot Top hospitalized after attempted suicide

Carrot Top was hospitalized in Las Vegas Friday after an attempted suicide, according to a report.
The comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was rushed to a local hospital after the incident in the Las Vegas area, TMZ reported, citing sources familiar with the situation.

His Friday night performance at the Luxor, where he has a long-running residency, was canceled as a result.

Thompson’s representative, Jami Schlicher, said the seasoned Vegas performer is recovering in the hospital and receiving care.
“Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs,” Schlicher told TMZ.
“His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.”

Thompson, 61, is known for his signature red hair, prop-heavy comedy and high-energy stage shows.
Further details about the incident were not immediately available.
