Jordan Henderson breaks silence after England star rushed to hospital with horror injury in Mexico City

JORDAN HENDERSON did not mention his shock World Cup ending injury as he broke his silence following the post-Mexico win accident.

The England midfielder, whose tournament is over after needing surgery on his wrist, ignored the disappointment as he addressed fans online.

Jordan Henderson ignored his World Cup ending injury in a first post online since the Mexico win

He was ruled out of the tournament after a freak accident in the post-match celebrations at the Azteca

Brentford ace Hendo, 36, seriously hurt himself when vaulting an advertising board at the Azteca stadium.

He was left in a heap on the floor moments after the Three Lions squad had stopped belting out Wonderwall in front of their fans.

And the former Liverpool man needed urgent medical attention before being stretchered from the field with an oxygen mask.

As the team returned to base camp in Kansas City, he stayed in Mexico and was left in hospital.

But Hendo acted like none of this happened on Instagram, instead choosing to focus on moving forward.

Speaking out for the first time since Monday morning’s historic victory, he wrote: “A night to remember that’s for sure!

“What an incredible performance against all the different challenges. So proud to be a part of this special team.

“Thanks for all the support, another big one Saturday”.

He is now expected to join up with the squad again and remain part of Thomas Tuchel’s group for the remainder of the tournament regardless.

Henderson will go to Kansas before the Norway quarter-final tie and is admired by boss Tuchel.

A host of the players also love his presence, including star Jude Bellingham.

Posting pics of the immediate full-time scenes – Hendo running off the bench to celebrate with Declan Rice and Dan Burn – he was wished well by fans.

One wrote: “Hope you’re on the mend”.

Another added: “Hope you’re alright”.

A third commented: “Get well soon Jordan“.

90-cap veteran Henderson became the first England player EVER to play at SIX different major tournaments when he was a late sub in the group win over Panama.

He has been unused by boss Thomas Tuchel other than that in USA, Canada, and Mexico.

German Tuchel explained of Hendo’s injury: “I’m sad because Jordan injured his wrist.

“It’s quite serious. He’s in hospital. It doesn’t fit with the rest of the evening. I don’t know the procedure.”
