A violent criminal on parole was charged with attempted murder for allegedly tossing an elderly woman onto Midtown subway tracks in a terrifying weekend attack, cops and sources said.

Zaki Smith, 36, was picked up by eagle-eyed cops during the Monday evening rush and charged in connection to the 11:30 a.m. Saturday attack at the 57th Street and Seventh Avenue station that left the 70-year-old victim with a head wound, police said.

Smith — who has 14 previous arrests — was also charged with felony and misdemeanor assault in the senseless shove, authorities said.

An elderly woman was pushed in front of subway train at the 57th Street and 7th Avenue station.

Commuters who witnessed the attack heroically jumped onto the tracks and pulled the senior back onto the platform.

She was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition and treated for the head injury, police said.

Smith was still on parole for a 2021 felony assault conviction that he did state prison time for when he allegedly attacked the elderly victim, police said.

He was convicted and sentenced to prison on the assault in Manhattan, doing time behind bars from November 2021 until May 2025, when he was released from the Sing Sing Correctional Facility on parole, state officials said.

His post-release supervision was set to expire in 2030, according to the records.

He was still on parole when he was picked up on a burglary charge on June 16 for allegedly stealing a can of Lysol and some cleaning rags from the Flatiron building, according to police and law-enforcement sources.

But he was released the next day because the charge is not eligible for bail under New York’s soft-on-crime laws.

Smith failed to show up in court for that case and had a bench warrant issued for his arrest – which was still pending when he allegedly shoved the 70-year-old victim.

A rep for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision said a new warrant for Smith was issued Monday for violating his parole after the latest arrest.

His rap sheet also includes a May 2025 robbery of an MTA worker, in which he was also found in possession of FDNY work phones, the sources said.

He was awaiting arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court Tuesday in connection to the subway shove.
