Woman ‘tries to abduct girl, 3, from mum’s car in KFC car park’ as dramatic vid shows cops tackle stranger to the ground

A WOMAN has been slammed to the ground by cops after she allegedly tried to kidnap a three-year-old from a KFC carpark.

A 40-year-old woman allegedly grabbed the young child from the back of her family car, covering her mouth the stifle her screams in Queensland, Australia.

The young girl’s horrified family instantly reacted, tackling the suspect to the ground and holding her under citizens’ arrest until the cops arrived.

The little girl’s grandfather described the ordeal as “surreal” and is shaken from the experience.

Queensland Police confirmed that a woman who was not known to the family approached a young girl and attempted to make off with her.

It is understood the child’s grandparents were dropping the little girl back to her parents at the Logan KFC carpark, waiting in their separate cars for the toddler’s father to return with food.

While the mother was busy buckling-in her other child, the suspect allegedly attempted to grab the child from the backseat of the car.

The grandfather said: “Next minute, I heard a scream.

“I took my seatbelt off, jumped out and saw this lady who had one of her hands over my granddaughter’s mouth and one around her body.”

The terrifying incident unfolded at about 10.20am on June 9.

The grandfather and mother were able to rescue the three-year-old from the woman’s clutches and perform a citizen’s arrest.

He said: “I was trying to grab the lady’s hands so my daughter could grab my granddaughter.”

“Then my son-in-law came out of the KFC and held her down until the cops arrived.

“She kept trying to get away.”

Dramatic footage from later at the scene showed two police officers pinning down the 40-year-old woman.

The child reportedly had scratch marks on her but was otherwise unharmed.

The woman has been taken to hospital and is expected to be charged as soon as she is well enough.

It comes as a newborn was snatched from a Spanish hospital after testing positive for cocaine.

The dramatic ordeal unfolded at around 7.30am, July 9, at the Francesc de Borja Hospital.

It is understood the baby’s mother allegedly handed over a sports bag with the newborn inside to the child’s dad before he fled, local reports claim.

The unnamed parents were already being probed by cops due to the baby allegedly testing positive for cocaine shortly after it was born.

The Valencian Regional government had assumed guardianship and custody of the child following the substance examination result.
