A woman was arrested after a Florida K-9 alerted to narcotics inside a vehicle during a traffic stop, police said.

A Cape Coral police officer conducted a routine traffic stop on Tuesday around 1:39 a.m. after observing multiple traffic infractions.

According to officers, during the traffic stop, a K-9 officer and his partner, K-9 Venom, arrived and conducted a sniff around the Dodge Durango.

After searching the vehicle, officers uncovered a backpack containing four clear baggies filled with a crystal-like substance, CCPD said.

After testing the substance, officers confirmed it to be methamphetamine, with a total weight of 97.8 grams, which is a substantial amount well above trafficking thresholds.

The driver, Tara Flore, 29, was arrested after evidence and statements connected her to the illegal contents, officers said.

Flore was taken to the Lee County Jail and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine over 14 grams.
