THE father accused of keeping his 16 children in Ohio’s so-called House of Horrors could avoid standing trial after his lawyer’s latest filing.

Gary Siders Jr, alongside his wife and parents, faces 16 felony counts of child endangerment after 16 children were rescued from the home in Vinton County, Ohio.

However, in the lastest update in the case, Siders Jr. may not be fit enough to stand trial, his attorney has suggested.

R. Lee Roberts Jr., filed a motion on Friday asking the court to order a competency and psychiatric evaluation of Siders Jr.

“Defendant’s competency to stand trial has been raised, and the documents at issue concern Defendant’s present mental condition and request for psychiatric examination,” Roberts wrote in the motion, seen by PEOPLE.

In the same filing, Roberts asked the court to keep the supporting documents sealed, arguing they hold deeply personal details about Siders’ mental state.

It comes just days after Siders Jr. had a separate court hearing, scheduled for July 23, moved as he faces indecency charges after allegedly flashing his neighbors.

The hearing was moved after Lee Roberts filed a motion on July 17 demanding to see the evidence against his client before the hearing.

It was these charges that sparked the horrifying discovery by police of what was going on behind closed doors at the home.

On June 30, Siders Jr., his wife Elizabeth, and his parents Gary Siders Sr., and Christina Siders were all arrested for allegedly keeping 16 children between 18 months and 18 years old in a 12-foot by 12-foot room filled with feces.

The state attorney general said some of the children were mute and “looked like almost feral animals.”

All four adults were taken into custody and face several charges including endangering children.

Cops turned up to the property because Siders Jr. was wanted by police for alleged acts of public indecency.

The 36-year-old allegedly repeatedly exposed himself to neighbors during a week in May, according to court documents.

They claim the twisted dad flashed his genitals on May 23, May 27, May 29, and May 31.

When officers arrived with an arrest warrant for Siders, they found the children inside the squalid home.

His wife and parents were also arrested, while the children were pulled from the home and rushed to safety for medical care — some taken to level one trauma centers due to how severe their conditions were.

It is believed that Siders Jr. and his wife Elizabeth are the biological parents of all the children.

Elizabeth’s lawyer, Tommy Stolly, is now investigating whether the 33-year-old wife is a victim herself, after she married her husband in 2008 at just 15, when he was 18, which was legal at the time.

Two months later, she gave birth to a baby who is now the eldest victim in the case.

If all four suspects are found guilty of child endangerment, they could face up to 192 years behind bars.
