Woman Almost Suffered a Final Destination-Like Death When a Bolt Impaled Her Car’s Windshield and Barely Missed Her Head

A premonition scene in 2003’s ‘Final Destination 2,’ involving a driver being beheaded by a massive log, traumatized movie fans

A 4-inch rusty metal bolt almost transformed Carla Wood’s routine drive home from a yoga class into a Final Destination-esque death scene.

Carla, 59, narrowly avoided death after the large brass bolt crashed through her car’s windshield and impaled her headrest, although shattered glass cut her face and arms, according to Kennedy News and Media.

The incident is reminiscent of Final Destination 2’s opening premonition scene, which traumatized a generation of moviegoers and caused them driving anxiety ever since the movie came out in 2003.

In the scene, massive logs strapped to a moving truck come undone and trigger multiple horrific deaths on a highway, with one log smashing through a state trooper’s car window and beheading him.

The retired sales coordinator’s June 24 scare involved her Mini John Cooper Works Convertible and a cargo truck on a road in Doncaster, England.

“[The cargo truck] was coming toward me. He was going at great speed, about 70 mph, and the road itself is quite bumpy,” Carla recalled.

“He had come around the bend, and I could see the vehicle was bouncing. Something made me slow down. I had the roof down on my car and I could see something hurtling through the air. I was kind of watching it in slow motion,” she added of her near-death experience.

Carla believes her late daughter, Chloe, gave her a sign that saved her life when the metal bolt tried to suddenly take it away.

“Then something, which I do believe was my daughter Chloe, who passed away 16 years ago [at age 18], told me to go to the left,” she said. “I definitely believe in another world, and we’re just vessels here.”

“I believe she was in the car pulling me to the left — I felt like a force,” Carla continued, before describing the moment the bolt struck. “The normal reaction would’ve been to go to the right. Next thing, the vehicle had gone past, and there was a loud noise and glass had shattered everywhere.”

The bolt embedded itself just inches from her head.

“This van stopped, and when I got out of the car, [the van driver] said, ‘Oh my goodness.’ He was looking at my headrest, and it was dented full of the rusty bolt,” Carla said. “If it had hit my head, I think I would’ve died.”

“I’m so fortunate to be here. I thought I’d be okay when the time came, but [it made me realize] how precious my life is and I’ve got a lot of life in me,” she concluded. “It makes you realize I’m not ready to go yet. It’s a wake-up call to live every day to its fullest.”
