Florida Woman Arrested After Surveillance Video Allegedly Shows Sexual Conduct With Family Dog

A Florida woman has been arrested after authorities said her estranged husband discovered surveillance footage allegedly showing her engaging in sexual conduct with the family’s dog.

Malia Elizabeth Nummerdor, 38, was arrested in Port Charlotte and charged with sexual activity involving an animal, a second-degree felony under Florida law. She remains held at the Charlotte County Jail on a $35,000 bond.

Husband Reportedly Discovered the Footage

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after Nummerdor’s estranged husband reported finding disturbing footage on a home security camera.

The cameras had reportedly been installed to determine who was taking money from a coin container in the home. The husband told investigators that the cameras were visible and known to members of the household.

While reviewing recordings, he said he discovered footage involving Nummerdor and the family dog, Ranger.

He later provided investigators with screenshots and access to a laptop containing the recordings.

Nummerdor Denied Sexual Conduct

Authorities questioned Nummerdor about the footage on September 15.

According to the sheriff’s office, she acknowledged that she was the person shown in the recording and that the dog belonged to her. However, she denied that any sexual activity had occurred.

Investigators said she was unable to provide a consistent explanation for what appeared in the footage. She eventually requested an attorney, ending the interview.

The allegations remain allegations, and the criminal case will proceed through the legal system.

Animal Welfare at the Center of the Case

The case has also drawn attention to the protection of animals from abuse and exploitation.

Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell said in a statement that animals should never be subjected to this type of conduct and that his department would take action when such allegations are reported.

Under Florida law, sexual activity involving an animal can constitute a felony offense. Nummerdor now faces that charge as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not indicated that the case is finished, and the allegations will ultimately be addressed through the court process.

For now, Nummerdor remains in custody while facing the felony charge.
