LINDSAY CLANCY’S defense attorney launched an attack on the solitary juror who couldn’t vote to acquit in the bombshell trial.

After 38 hours of deliberations, jurors remained deadlocked over whether the Massachusetts mother, 36, was responsible for the deaths of her three young children.

One juror out of the 12 held out and refused to be persuaded by the other 11, which sparked a mistrial.

“Where do I begin to thank these jurors, minus one,” Reddington said outside the Plymouth Superior Court.

“I have no ideas what they guy was thinking, I have no idea he did what he did.

“They know that they were robbed by one man, for whatever his agenda was, who stole seven weeks of the life of these other jurors that were so attentive, so beautiful, so wonderful.

“You could see how defeated they were sitting there. I’ve got a funny feeling that they would have gone on for another week if they had to.

“I would like to meet with him and ask him why. I hope that guy can sleep well at night.

“It was a horrible investigation, it was not even an investigation. This was a very sad case.”

During the trial, Reddington challenged evidence showing empty prescription bottles and crushed medications found in Lindsay Clancy’s home.

He argued the drugs did not prove premeditation or illicit use, but instead reflected Clancy’s deteriorating mental health and failed medical care, contributing to her postpartum psychosis.

“Where is the pill crusher? It’s not there. Where is the residue?” said Reddington, who revealed Clancy will be housed at Tewksbury State hospital before any retrial.

Prosecutors maintained that Clancy acted intentionally, that she sent husband Patrick out on an errand before strangling the children with exercise bands in the basement and understood the difference between right and wrong at the time.

The former delivery nurse then cut herself with a knife on her wrists and neck, before jumping out of a bedroom window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.

Clancy had pursued an insanity defense, arguing that she was experiencing undiagnosed postpartum psychosis when she strangled her children — Cora, Dawson and Callan — on January 24, 2023.

“I am representing a woman who is a fantastic individual,” Reddington added. “My heart breaks for Lindsay. She should have got the acquittal she deserved.”

They pointed to her decision to send her husband out of the house as evidence that she deliberately created an opportunity to act.

After five weeks of disturbing testimony and a week of tense jury deliberations, Judge William Sullivan thanked the jurors for their service, quoting former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill

“Let us brace for our duties,” Sullivan told the jury, recalling Churchill’s words during World War II. He said the phrase came to mind when the jurors agreed to serve on the case.

Clancy showed little emotion after the judge declared a mistrial, meaning the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict and she was neither convicted nor acquitted. Prosecutors could seek to retry the case.

The jury had been deadlocked since Tuesday.

The court is scheduled to reconvene on September 29 to discuss the next steps in the legal proceedings.

In a last-ditch effort to prevent the case from ending without a verdict, Reddington asked the judge for an emergency stay.

The request was granted, but Reddington’s subsequent appeal to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court was quickly rejected, clearing the way for the judge to declare a mistrial.

On Thursday, Reddington alleged that one juror was refusing to follow the law regarding reasonable doubt.

The judge, William Sullivan, said at the end of the trial it will be two weeks until the names of the jury are released.

Meanwhile, ex-husband Patrick, who only appeared at court to take the stand, was pictured by The U.S. Sun earlier this week with his new wife.

His lawyer issued a statement, stressing the Microsoft employee was already dreading a retrial.

“The loss of Patrick’s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure,” it read. “The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family, and for all us.”
