Mormon YouTuber Chandler David Hendry Dies at 27 After Utah Car Crash
LEHI, Utah — Chandler David Hendry, a 27-year-old YouTuber and podcaster known for creating content about his Mormon faith, has died following a three-vehicle crash in Utah.
Hendry was involved in the collision on August 7 in Lehi, where his vehicle struck two other cars after he reportedly ran a red light. He was taken to a local hospital but was pronounced dead. No other people involved in the crash were seriously injured.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
A Young Religious Creator With a Growing Following
Hendry had built a growing audience through his “Restored Truth” podcast and social-media accounts, where he discussed scripture, faith and questions surrounding the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He had developed a particularly strong following among young members of the faith and was described by fellow creators as an emerging voice in the LDS apologetics community.
His online audience included tens of thousands of followers across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Friends and fellow creators remembered Hendry as someone who was deeply committed to his beliefs and willing to discuss them publicly, even when addressing disagreements with people from other religious backgrounds.

His Final Video Focused on the Afterlife
The circumstances surrounding Hendry’s final social-media post have added an emotional dimension to the news of his death.
Hours before the crash, he shared a video discussing an illustration about the afterlife and eternal family relationships that he had encountered at a religious conference in Utah.
In the video, Hendry reflected on the idea that families could remain connected beyond death — a central belief within his faith.
The post took on unexpected significance after news of his death spread, with followers returning to the video and sharing messages of grief.

Remembered by His Wife and Family
Hendry’s death came only weeks before his second wedding anniversary.
His wife, AnaLynn, paid tribute to him following the crash, describing him as someone through whom she felt God’s love every day.
His family and friends also remembered his energy, humor and commitment to the people around him.
A memorial gathering was held after an event Hendry had previously organized for young members of his church who were preparing for missionary service. What had been planned as a celebration and preparation event instead became an opportunity for friends and relatives to remember him.

A Legacy of Faith
Hendry’s father recalled that his son had not always been comfortable with public speaking. His attitude changed during his religious mission, however, and he eventually embraced the responsibility of teaching and speaking about his faith.
That transformation became a major part of his later online work.
Through Restored Truth, Hendry sought to explain and defend LDS teachings while engaging with questions about scripture and Christianity. His followers have since described his sudden death as a devastating loss for a young creator who appeared to be at the beginning of a much larger career.
For those who knew him personally, however, Hendry’s legacy extends beyond his social-media audience.
He leaves behind his wife, family, friends and a community of followers who have been reflecting on his message of faith, family and the possibility of life beyond death.
