Patrick Clancy Seen With New Wife as Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial Enters Another Emotional Stage

As one of the most closely watched murder trials in Massachusetts continues, Patrick Clancy, whose three children were killed in 2023, has been photographed with his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, during a break from the proceedings.
The couple was reportedly seen at an apartment building in Manhattan on August 13. According to TMZ, they appeared tense during the roughly 30-minute outing, with Patrick taking several phone calls and pacing while Danis also spent time on her phone.

The seemingly ordinary moment comes against the backdrop of an extraordinary tragedy that has continued to unfold in court.
Patrick’s former wife, Lindsay Clancy, is currently on trial in Massachusetts in connection with the deaths of their three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — who died in January 2023.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Her defense argues that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her actions.
Prosecutors, however, have presented a different theory, arguing that Clancy was criminally responsible and that her actions were planned. The prosecution recently completed its case after calling more than 70 witnesses, including Patrick, medical professionals, first responders and digital-forensics experts.
Among the evidence presented was data from Clancy’s Apple Watch and phone. Jurors heard about changes in her activity, heart rate, searches and communications in the period surrounding the deaths.

The defense is now presenting its case, with mental health remaining at the center of the proceedings.
Patrick has already taken the witness stand during the trial, recounting the devastating discovery that changed his life forever.
Since the 2023 tragedy, he has gradually rebuilt his life. He divorced Lindsay, moved to New York and later married Dr. Rachel Danis, a reproductive specialist. The couple reportedly married in April 2026.
Patrick and Danis have also established the Heard Foundation, honoring the memory of his children while focusing on improving awareness and support surrounding perinatal mental health.
Yet moving forward has not meant leaving the past behind.
The ongoing trial continues to bring painful details of the family’s final days into public view, forcing Patrick and others close to the family to repeatedly revisit the events of January 2023.
Recent testimony has included accounts of Clancy’s mental state, her treatment and her own explanation that she experienced frightening thoughts and auditory hallucinations. The defense says those symptoms are central to understanding what happened, while prosecutors dispute that she was legally incapable of understanding her actions.
The contrast between the courtroom and Patrick’s life outside it has made his situation especially difficult to comprehend: while he is attempting to build a new life with his wife, he is simultaneously watching the legal proceedings surrounding the deaths of his children.
The trial remains ongoing, and the jury will ultimately have to decide whether Lindsay Clancy should be held criminally responsible for the deaths.
For Patrick, however, there is no verdict that can change the most painful part of the story — the loss of three children he once described as the center of his world.
He may be trying to move forward, but the courtroom keeps bringing him back to the tragedy that changed his life forever.
