Neighbor Heard Chilling Argument Moments Before Teen Allegedly Fatally Stabbed His Mother

DISTURBED neighbors heard a “loud” fight between an Alabama teen and his parents hours before he allegedly stabbed his mom to death.

17-year-old Brandon Baker is accused of killing his mother, Samantha Baker, 37, and critically wounding his dad, Lance Baker, 46, in a brutal knife attack

Samantha Baker, 37 was killed and father, Lance Baker, 46 was critically injured after their son allegedly stabbed them

The killing began after the parents argued with their teen son Brandon Baker over a disciplinary issue inside the house.

The horror unfolded Sunday night at the family’s home in the private Belforest community in Alabama.

Cops said the bloodbath began after the parents argued with their teen son over a disciplinary issue inside the house.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Captain Justin Correa told the New York Post the boy then grabbed a kitchen knife.

Brandon allegedly stabbed both parents multiple times before they fled outside in a desperate attempt to escape.

Neighbor Shawn Scurry, 51, said her home surveillance camera picked up chilling audio from the attack.

“You can hear both of them coming out of the house, and there’s like one scream from the mom,” Scurry said.

“Then the dad is arguing with the [son] — and when I say arguing, I mean like, ‘Why are you doing this?’

“He’s basically saying, ‘I don’t want to die. Please stop. No.’”

Scurry said Lance could then be heard screaming for help.

“And then he’s repeating, ‘Somebody help me, please, help me’ very loudly,” she said.

At one point, Scurry claimed the teen could be heard threatening his father.

She said the boy was “telling [the dad] he was gonna kill him.”

“Those words are in the video,” she added.

Photos obtained by The Post showed a large pool of blood on a neighbor’s front porch, where cops say Samantha was found dead.

Another image showed blood splattered and smeared across a glass window overlooking the spot where the mom was discovered.

Scurry said Lance ran door to door trying to get help as his son allegedly chased him.

The wounded dad left bloody handprints on neighbors’ doors, according to the shaken neighbor.

“It was like fighting off a bee that keeps stinging you,” Scurry said.

She claimed another neighbor’s camera captured the teen repeatedly stabbing his father outside a nearby home.

Correa confirmed doorbell footage of the attack had been handed over to investigators.

He said at least “a few” neighbors were not home when Lance tried to get help.

Scurry said she first noticed something was wrong when she saw the Bakers’ dog wandering near her front door.

“I walked with the dog back to their house, rang their doorbell. Nobody answered, and I went around to the garage,” she said.

She then heard cries in the distance.

“I heard … ‘Help me.’ I couldn’t find where it was coming from,” Scurry said.

As emergency crews later flooded the quiet street, Scurry said she saw Samantha’s body before the coroner arrived.

“I saw her face down with stab wounds all over her back,” she told The Post.

Samantha, who worked as a realtor, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lance, a US Army Reserve Battalion Commander with the 1184th Deployment and Distribution Support Battalion in Mobile, was flown to a hospital in critical condition.

As of Wednesday, he remained hospitalized but had been upgraded to stable condition, Correa said.

The couple’s younger teen son was not home at the time of the attack, police said.

Investigators described the stabbing as an isolated domestic incident.

Authorities said the teen eventually returned to the family home and called 911.

He was arrested without incident, Correa said.

The captain also pushed back on reports that the teen had barricaded himself inside the house.

Hours before the fatal attack, Scurry said she heard Samantha and her son arguing on the family’s front porch.

She said surveillance audio captured snippets of the heated exchange around 2:30 pm.

Scurry believed the pair were fighting about Samantha’s Facebook posts.

“He was asking about a comment, and she was saying it was just a story,” Scurry said.

“She was saying … it wasn’t about him.”

Scurry said she thought Samantha’s posts about her son may have been “starting to hurt him.”

“She does talk kind of rude about the kids … and, you know, they are teenagers,” she said.

Samantha frequently posted about her family, including photos at football games, church, and other outings.

“I love being a football mom. I don’t love the way they smell but hard work does stink!” she wrote in one October 2025 post.

In another post, she joked about life inside the Baker home.

“Welcome to the Baker house…we laugh then holler then act like nothing happened until it’s time to holler and laugh again,” she wrote.

“It’s a s*** show over here. Enter at your own risk.”

In a National Sons’s Day post last year, Samantha called Brandon “a sweet guy” but also mentioned “his mouth and attitude.”

“He’s a calm presence until he isn’t. He marches to the beat of his own drum,” she wrote.

In a birthday post for him in September, she said, “You are an amazing person and yet at the same time you make my blood boil.”

More recently, Samantha reposted a meme that read, “Gentle parenting is for gentle children. My thugs will be handled accordingly.”

Last May, she shared another meme that said, “Only parents with gentle children can gentle parent. The rest of us have to square up, and fight for our lives with the tiny bullies we made.”

Samantha captioned it, “And I do square up! I don’t have gentle kids! They are feral.”

Scurry said Sunday’s earlier argument ended with Samantha telling her son to mow the lawn.

“She [got] the final say and that was for him to go do his chore, which is to mow the lawn,” she said.

“I always saw him mowing the lawn … so it didn’t seem like it was a problem for him to do it that day.”

The teen is facing murder and attempted murder charges.

He will be tried as an adult and is being held on a $1 million bond after his Monday arraignment.

“A very sad event for sure,” Correa said.
