Patrick Clancy Opens Up About Life After Losing His Three Children

DUXBURY, Mass. — Patrick Clancy is speaking publicly for the first time since the mistrial in his former wife Lindsay Clancy’s murder case, sharing an emotional glimpse into how he continues to live with the loss of his three young children.

In a preview of his upcoming 60 Minutes interview, Clancy told CBS correspondent Ross Douthat that he still talks to his children “all the time.” When asked what he says to them, he answered simply: “Help me. All the time.”

Remembering Cora, Dawson and Callan

Clancy’s children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — died at the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023.

Lindsay Clancy has acknowledged responsibility for the children’s deaths, while her defense argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible at the time. Her trial ended in a mistrial after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

Prosecutors have not announced whether they will pursue another trial.

A Father Still Grieving

Patrick has largely remained out of the public spotlight since the tragedy and the closely watched trial.

Through his attorneys, he has also pushed back against conspiracy theories and online claims alleging that he was somehow involved in the deaths. His legal team has described those accusations as false and said they have caused additional harm to Patrick and his family.

His upcoming interview appears to focus less on the courtroom and more on his children, his grief and the memories he carries with him.

“The Memory of Cora, Dawson and Callan”

Patrick’s representatives have said he wants to redirect public attention toward remembering his children and raising awareness about perinatal mental health.

He has also established a nonprofit, Heard with Love, following the deaths, with a focus on helping mothers and families dealing with mental-health challenges.

The full interview with Patrick Clancy is scheduled to air on “60 Minutes” Sunday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+.

For Patrick, the legal case may remain unresolved, but his latest message is centered on something much more personal: keeping the memory of his three children alive.
