Argentina fans were tricked into thinking they had won the World Cup

There was originally delight inside the cabin
And footage, which was recorded straight after Spain were crowned world champions for a second time, is going viral.
Fans wearing Argentina shirts were filmed jumping up and down with excitement after being given the fake news over the tannoy on a night flight.
The plane fell silent as the pilot said: “It was a fiercely contested match right to the end, including extra-time.
“Both teams gave it their all but, unfortunately, only one team can win the World Cup final.”
He went on to unleash a wave of jubilation by adding: “We wanted to congratulate our Argentinian friends.”
But, in a second part of the video posted online, the plane fell silent when the pilot revealed: “Spain has won.”
Argentinian media outlets did not see the funny side, with some describing the announcement as a “sick joke.”
Newspaper La Voz del Interior wrote: “During a flight, as the World Cup was reaching its climax, a Spanish captain announced a false result that sparked celebrations among the passengers before revealing Spain were the champions.”

The pilot has been criticised for the gag
Another Argentinian news outlet, branding the pilot’s actions as “terrible”, said: “Not only did he commit a terrible act with a questionable sense of humour, but he exposed himself to serious consequences aboard the aircraft once the truth finally came out.
“The passengers might have wanted to confront him or enter the cockpit. A massive blunder.”
The name of the airline and the plane’s destination has not yet been made public.
Argentina had to play the whole of extra-time with ten men after Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez was sent off.
And members of the South American giants’ squad failed to control their anger when their dreams of retaining the World Cup were ended.
Leandro Paredes saw red for his part in a mass brawl following the final whistle.
