Missing NYC Grandmother Alisa Goods Found Dead Near Las Vegas Airport After Nearly Two-Week Search

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — A nearly two-week search for a 63-year-old New York grandmother who disappeared while visiting Las Vegas has ended in tragedy after her body was found near Harry Reid International Airport.

Alisa Goods, a mother of five and grandmother of five, disappeared on August 8 after leaving a longtime friend’s apartment to go to a nearby CVS. Her family had spent days searching for answers before authorities located her near the airport.

Family Receives Heartbreaking News

Goods’ family confirmed that she had been found, but not in the way they had hoped.

Her daughter, Kristen, had traveled from New Jersey to Las Vegas to help search for her mother. Relatives checked hospitals and other locations while distributing flyers and asking the public for information.

The family said they are now focused on grieving and making arrangements to honor Goods while trying to understand what happened.

She Vanished After Leaving for a CVS

Goods was visiting a longtime friend in Las Vegas when she left the apartment on August 8.

She reportedly told her friend she was going to a nearby CVS. She never returned.

Her family became increasingly worried because Goods did not drive and normally remained in contact with her loved ones.

She was officially reported missing on August 10.

Mysterious Messages Added to the Mystery

The disappearance became even more concerning when family members began receiving unusual messages from Goods’ phone.

The messages reportedly requested money, gas money and eventually Bitcoin.

Relatives said the messages did not sound like Goods and raised fears that someone else could have been using her phone.

Authorities have since indicated that the messages may have been sent by unrelated individuals who gained access to the phone, and there is currently no confirmed evidence that those messages explain what happened to Goods.

Surveillance Provides a New Clue

Police reviewing surveillance footage found video that appeared to show Goods near the airport on the day she disappeared.

According to authorities, footage showed a woman believed to be Goods falling down an embankment, getting back up and later collapsing.

Investigators have not publicly explained all of the circumstances surrounding the footage or why Goods was in that area.

Body Found Near Airport

Police received a call early Thursday morning reporting a woman found near a drainage area close to Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking garage at Harry Reid International Airport.

Officers responded and found the woman, who was later identified as Goods.

Her discovery brought an end to the family’s nearly two-week search.

However, important questions remain unanswered.

Cause of Death Has Not Been Released

Authorities have not publicly announced Goods’ cause or manner of death.

They also have not identified a suspect or announced that anyone has been arrested in connection with her death.

The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine exactly what happened between the time Goods left her friend’s apartment and when she was found near the airport.

Family Asks for Privacy

Goods’ relatives have thanked members of the public and the media who helped spread information about her disappearance.

Her family is now asking for privacy as they mourn.

A fundraiser has also been established to help the family with funeral expenses and other costs connected to the tragedy.

For nearly two weeks, Goods’ loved ones had hoped they would receive the news they were desperately waiting for — that she had been found safe.

Instead, they are now left mourning a mother and grandmother while investigators continue working to answer the questions surrounding her final days.
