Lindsay Clancy’s ex-husband Patrick gives blunt one-word responses as he’s grilled on last days before she killed 3 kids

THE ex-husband of a Massachusetts nurse accused of strangling her three kids to death issued a series of blunt one word responses during his testimony at her trial.

Patrick Clancy took the stand as the first witness in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial on Monday, where he described the last days of his children’s lives.

Patrick was questioned by the prosecution for two hours on Monday before the judge adjourned the court until Wednesday.

He was previously married to Lindsay, who is facing three murder charges in relation to the deaths of her three children, five-year-old daughter Cora, three-year-old son Dawson and eight-month-old son Callan on January 24, 2023.

Lindsay allegedly asked Patrick to go pick up dinner and then strangled their three children in the basement of their home.

She then cut her wrists and neck before jumping out of the second-story window of their home.

Patrick returned home to find her in their backyard and later discovered their children with exercise bands around their necks.

Clancy’s attorney is looking to argue an insanity defense, claiming Lindsay was experiencing postpartum psychosis when she allegedly strangled her three children.

During his testimony, Patrick answered questions about their relationship, the births of their children and the months and days before their children died.

He kept his composure during most of the testimony, but became a bit emotional when talking about the last few days his children were alive.

His breath became shaky and he put his hand over his chest several times at the mention of his kids.

He kept his answers short, including when asked if Lindsay told him about having any thoughts of suicide or harming the children.

The prosecutor asked if the Clancy family went to the Museum of Science on January 8, 2023, which Patrick said yes.

“Was the defendant able to participate in activities with the children while at [the] museum on January 8?” the prosecution asked.

“Yes,” Patrick replied.

“At the Museum of Science, do you recall the def being able to interact with the children at exhibits that required manipulating knobs and materials and showing the children how to do those exhibits?” he was asked.

“Yeah, Lindsay was always able to interact with our kids, including at the museum of science.

He went on to talk about going to dinner sometime after the museum, and described how Lindsay’s demeanor was “good,” which had him “hopeful” as she “seemed much better.”

He was also asked about going to a water park on January 15, 2023, where he again said Lindsay could interact with the children and participate in activities.

The court was then shown surveillance pictures of the family at the water park, where Lindsay was seen holding Callan in one of them.

A surveillance video showing a pirate ship and a slide at the park was shown, where Patrick replied with one word answers when being asked if they had visited this part of the park and if Cora was the child going down the slide.

“Did Cora and Lindsay go down the slide together?” the prosecution asked as a woman and child were seen on the footage.

“Yep,” Patrick said.

He was later asked if he was comfortable allowing Lindsay to go to an area of the park alone with Callan while he was with Dawson and Cora, which he replied, “Yeah.”

Patrick was also asked about the medications Lindsay was prescribed and appeared to become frustrated at one point when the prosecutor asked if he knew only a few pills had been taken most of the bottles.

Patrick said he was not aware of how many pills were taken from each bottle.
