Horrifying Moment Female Officer Is Assaulted by Feral Teens at July 4 Party as Police Release Makeshift Spear Photo

A GANG of teens assaulted a female cop at a Fourth of July party amid sickening scenes on Saturday.

Shocking social media videos of a holiday party in North Charleston show a struggle in which one officer is forced to the ground and repeatedly assaulted before another intervenes.

A spear was found at the block party among other weapons

According to the local police department, officers were dispatched at around 8.30pm to a neighborhood block bash in the Chicora-Cherokee community after receiving reports that people were firing weapons and launching fireworks toward passing vehicles.

Investigators said the situation worsened after law enforcement arrived and attempted to move revelers away from the area, leading to a physical confrontation involving members of the crowd.

Footage circulating online appears to show a female cop being surrounded before being knocked to the ground.

During the struggle, one person appears to strike the officer repeatedly while another individual restrains her.

A third person is seen swinging what appears to be a baton or similar object during the altercation.

Moments later, another officer enters the scene and attempts to pull those involved away from the officer on the ground.

The responding officer is seen pushing one suspect aside while trying to gain control of the rapidly developing situation.

After additional attempts to break up the assault, the officer deploys a Taser, causing several people nearby to run from the area.

The officer who had been pinned to the ground is eventually freed after the suspect holding her is restrained.

Video shows officers placing at least two individuals in handcuffs while a crowd gathers nearby and watches the arrests unfold.

Police said two female officers suffered minor injuries during the confrontation. Both officers have since returned to duty, according to Police Chief Ron Camacho.

Speaking during a news conference, Camacho cautioned against drawing conclusions based solely on the videos circulating online.

He said investigators are reviewing a larger body of evidence that includes police body-camera recordings and witness statements.

“What you got on that social media, you’re looking at one little snippet, at one little video,” Camacho said. “We were out there for an extended period of time.”

Local police are continuing to look for the perpetrators

Authorities said officers recovered several firearms from the scene after the disturbance.

Investigators also found what police described as a makeshift spear as part of the collected evidence.

Four people were arrested in connection with the incident, including three juveniles and one adult.

Officials said the investigation remains active and additional arrests are possible as detectives continue reviewing body-camera footage, surveillance recordings and videos submitted by witnesses.

Police have not publicly released the identities of those arrested, and it was not immediately clear what charges each suspect could face.

The U.S Sun has contacted North Charleston PD, but is yet to hear back.

Authorities said more information would be released as the investigation progresses.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson condemned the violence and expressed support for law enforcement officers responding to the disturbance.

“There is no place in South Carolina for mob violence or attacks on law enforcement,” Wilson said in a statement. He added that individuals who assault police officers, discharge firearms into crowds or otherwise endanger public safety should be arrested and prosecuted.

The North Charleston Police Department also blasted the rioters, saying assaults on law enforcement officers will be prosecuted to the fullest extent allowed by law.

“The safety of our residents and visitors remains our highest priority,” the department said in a statement.

Officials also thanked members of the public who complied with officers’ instructions during the response despite the chaotic conditions.

Meanwhile in Maryland, police in Ocean City are looking to identify a suspect as part of an investigation where another assault took place against a law enforcement official.

Ocean City PD say the incident happened around 9.30pm near 120th Street and Assawoman Drive, on the night of July 4.

“The suspect is a white male with dark colored hair,” read a statement. “The suspect was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt with a graphic design on the back, dark-colored shorts, and flip-flops.”
