A 53-year-old man was beaten to death with a wooden plank inside a Queens park Tuesday morning, and police are searching for the attacker responsible for the brutal assault.

Officers responded to Rufus King Park in Jamaica, Queens, at around 8:40 a.m. after receiving reports of an assault, according to the NYPD.

When police arrived, they found the victim suffering from severe head trauma.

The man was identified as Christopher Brooks, a Queens resident. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Attacker Allegedly Used Wood From Nearby Debris
According to law enforcement sources, the attacker is believed to have taken a two-by-four from a nearby pile of debris before striking Brooks.

Sources also told The Post that the victim may have known the alleged attacker.

Police have not publicly identified a suspect or disclosed a possible motive for the killing.

The circumstances surrounding the deadly confrontation remain under investigation as detectives work to determine what led to the attack and identify the person responsible.
