Gracie Abrams Opens Up About the “Woo-Woo” Beliefs She Really Believes In

LOS ANGELES — Gracie Abrams is opening up about the more mystical side of her personality, revealing that she has a soft spot for several beliefs that she describes as “woo-woo.”

During an appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter discussed everything from angel numbers and zodiac signs to attachment styles, explaining which ideas she genuinely finds meaningful.

11:11 Has a Special Meaning

One of Abrams’ strongest beliefs involves the number 11:11.

She said she makes a wish whenever she notices the clock at 11:11. She also picked up another habit from someone on her crew: tapping three times whenever she sees three numbers in a row.

For Abrams, these little rituals are part of the unexplained things she enjoys rather than something she approaches as a strict belief system.

She’s Curious About Astrology

Abrams also admitted that she isn’t deeply knowledgeable about astrology, but she enjoys hearing about zodiac personalities and seeing how certain descriptions might apply to her.

Her approach seems to be more playful than serious — she is interested in the possibility that some of these ideas might reveal something about personality, even if she doesn’t consider herself an astrology expert.

Attachment Styles Hit Closer to Home

Another concept Abrams discussed was attachment theory.

She reflected on how she once identified more with an anxious attachment style but now feels that she has become more securely attached.

Abrams connected that change to her personal life, including her relationship with actor Paul Mescal, whom she has been dating for roughly two years.

She has previously spoken about how being in a stable relationship has affected her creatively, saying the experience has brought a different kind of emotional perspective to her songwriting.

Finding Meaning in the Unexplained

Abrams also described a special creative atmosphere at Aaron Dessner’s Long Pond Studio, where she has recorded music with the National musician and producer.

She said the studio can feel almost like entering another world because of the creative connection she shares with Dessner.

For Abrams, that sense of intuition and unexplained connection appears to be part of what she means by “woo-woo” — trusting certain feelings even when she can’t completely explain them.

With her latest album, Daughter from Hell, Abrams has continued exploring personal emotions and relationships through her songwriting.

And while she may not consider herself a hardcore believer in mystical ideas, 11:11 wishes, zodiac signs and a little faith in the unexplained clearly have a place in her world.
