One night on the banks of the Pascagoula River, a car carrying three people plunged into dark, fast-moving water. Before emergency crews arrived, 16-year-old Corion Evans jumped in without a second thought.
He swam to the sinking vehicle and pulled the passengers out one by one, guiding each safely to shore.
Then, when a responding police officer was caught in the strong current, Corion went back into the river again — helping the officer fight the water until both reached land.
Everyone survived.

No special gear. No backup. Just courage, skill, and selflessness when seconds mattered.
Corion later said he only did what anyone should do. But that night, his bravery turned what could have been tragedy into a story of lives saved.
