Fundraiser for Times Square Stabbing Victim Erin Piacenti’s Infant Daughter Surpasses $500,000

NEW YORK — A fundraiser created for the infant daughter of Erin Piacenti, the 32-year-old Bank of America executive who was fatally stabbed in Times Square, has surpassed $500,000, as thousands of people have contributed to help support the baby following the devastating loss of her mother.
Piacenti was killed Monday in what organizers of the fundraiser described as a random and unprovoked attack in the heart of New York City.
She was just 32 years old and had recently become a mother to Madison, her 5-month-old daughter with her husband, Frank.
The tragedy has prompted an extraordinary response from people who knew Piacenti, worked with her or were simply moved by the story of a young mother whose life was suddenly cut short.

Fundraiser reaches more than $500,000
The GoFundMe campaign was established in the aftermath of Piacenti’s death with the goal of providing financial support for her daughter and helping secure Madison’s future.
By early Thursday, the fundraiser had collected more than $501,000 through over 5,000 donations.
The rapid response reflects the impact Piacenti had on those around her, as well as the heartbreaking circumstances surrounding her death.
Organizers emphasized that the fundraiser is not intended to define Piacenti by the way she died, but rather to remember the life she built and the people she loved.
“Becoming a mother was Erin’s lifelong ambition,” the fundraiser said, describing her daughter as the greatest joy of her life.
Piacenti had just returned from maternity leave
The timing of the attack made the tragedy even more heartbreaking.
Piacenti had reportedly taken maternity leave following Madison’s birth and Monday was her first day back at work.
Instead of beginning a new chapter balancing motherhood and her career, she became the victim of a deadly attack in Times Square.
Her death left behind a husband and a 5-month-old daughter who will now grow up without the mother she had only just begun to know.
The fundraiser said Piacenti was deeply devoted to her family and friends and was known for her intelligence, accomplishments, warmth and energy.
Those close to her described a woman who had built a successful career while embracing the new role she had long wanted: becoming a mother.
A successful career at Bank of America
Piacenti had risen to a coveted vice president position at Bank of America, establishing herself as a successful young professional.
Outside of work, she and her husband had recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary.
The family lived in Chester, New Jersey, and had been looking forward to the future with their growing family.
According to the fundraiser, the family had also recently returned from a road trip shortly before Piacenti was killed.
Their lives, which had been centered around their new baby and plans for the future, were transformed in an instant.
Tragedy unfolded in Times Square
Piacenti was fatally stabbed during an incident in Times Square on August 31.
Authorities identified the suspect as Pamela Cisneros, who was reportedly armed with two kitchen knives during the incident.
Police later shot Cisneros after she allegedly advanced toward officers while holding the weapons and failed to comply with repeated commands to drop them.
Cisneros died after the police shooting.
The circumstances surrounding the attack have drawn significant attention, but for Piacenti’s family, the focus has remained on the life that was lost and the baby who was left behind.
Fundraiser focuses on Madison’s future
Rather than simply raising money for immediate expenses, organizers said the fund was established to support Madison and help provide for her future.
The campaign gives people who knew Piacenti — including friends, colleagues and members of the wider community — an opportunity to contribute in a tangible way.
The fundraiser described the effort as a way of honoring Piacenti by helping care for the daughter she loved more than anything.
That message appears to have resonated strongly.
More than 5,000 people had contributed by Thursday, pushing the total beyond the half-million-dollar mark.
A mother remembered beyond the headlines
The circumstances of Piacenti’s death have understandably attracted widespread attention, but those organizing the fundraiser have stressed that her life should not be reduced to the tragedy that ended it.
She was a daughter, wife, friend, colleague and, most importantly to her, a new mother.
Her daughter Madison was only five months old when Piacenti was killed.
For her family, the fundraiser represents more than a financial contribution. It is also a way for thousands of strangers and acquaintances to show support during an unimaginable period of grief.
The campaign’s message is ultimately about preserving Piacenti’s connection to her daughter — and helping ensure that Madison has opportunities in the years ahead.
Family’s future changed in an instant
Only days before the attack, Piacenti and her family were enjoying time together following their road trip and looking ahead to life with their young daughter.
She had returned to work after maternity leave and was beginning what should have been another chapter in a life marked by professional achievement and family milestones.
Instead, that future disappeared in a matter of moments.
The fundraiser now stands as a growing expression of support for Madison and her family.
With donations continuing to arrive, the campaign has already crossed the $500,000 milestone, demonstrating the extraordinary response to the loss of a young mother whose life was cut short in one of New York City’s most recognizable locations.
For those supporting the fundraiser, the goal is simple: to help Madison move forward while keeping alive the memory of the mother who loved her deeply.
