A DEVASTATED mother spoke directly to the two people sentenced for the murder of transgender man Sam Nordquist.

A judge handed down a sentence to the two individuals who tortured and murdered Nordquist in September 2025.

Precious Arzuaga was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of Nordquist

Jennifer Quijano and Precious Arzuaga were both sentenced to life in prison without parole on Tuesday for their role in the month-long torture and murder of Nordquist, a transgender man.

In September 2024, Nordquist traveled from Minnesota to New York to meet with Quijano and Arzuaga after interacting on social media.

Authorities said Quijano and Arzuaga tortured Nordquist for a month and eventually murdered him.

His body was discovered at a park in Yates County, New York, roughly 117 miles outside of Buffalo, on February 13, 2025.

Sam’s mother, Linda Nordquist, looked directly at the two killers while reading a victim impact statement in court.

“Precious, out of every person involved in this case, you knew exactly why Sam came here,” she said, according to CBS New York affiliate WHAM.

“He trusted you. He believed you cared for him.”

“Precious, you may have believed you had the power to decide how my son’s story would end, but you did not,” the mother added.

Ontario County Judge Kristina Karle told Arzuaga that Nordquist traveled to New York in hopes of finding love.

“Sadly and tragically he found you,” the judge said.

Arzuaga pleaded guilty to her role in Nordquist’s death, including first-degree murder charges in June.

Nordquist’s sister, Kayla, spoke directly to Arzuaga on Tuesday saying “the person he trusted with his heart became the reason it stopped beating forever.”

In September 2024, Nordquist met Arzuaga and Quijano on social media and agreed to meet with them in New York

During the trial, prosecutors shared a text message that Arzuaga sent saying “Sam can never leave New York alive.”

Prosecutor James Noble called Arzuaga the “ringleader” in Nordquist’s torture and murder.

Court documents said that Nordquist was beaten with different items including sticks and dog toys.

Arzuaga told the court she was willing to accept any punishment handed down to her.

“I can’t take back what happened, although I wish I could.”

In July, Quijano also pleaded guilty to murder charges.

Five other individuals were arrested and charged with murder in connection to Nordquist’s death.

Kyle Sage and Emily Motyka have also pleaded guilty to murder charges.
