The autopsy of Brittany Clark, a 31-year-old Florida woman who died after an alligator attack in Central Florida, has revealed the severity of the injuries she suffered during the tragic incident.

Clark was attacked on June 28 while visiting Little Big Econ State Forest with her boyfriend and roommate. Authorities said the alligator involved was approximately 13 feet long.

According to an autopsy report released Thursday, Clark died from multiple severe injuries to her upper body. The medical examiner determined that her death was accidental.

The report also noted evidence consistent with contact from the animal, including marks found on several bones.

Following the incident, wildlife officials captured and removed a large alligator from the area. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission later used DNA evidence to confirm that the animal was responsible for the attack.

Clark’s boyfriend, Chance Allison, said he desperately tried to help her during the terrifying encounter. He recalled that the alligator appeared suddenly while the group was in the water.

“We were smiling and talking and then it was complete chaos,” Allison said.

He also remembered one of the final things Clark told him as they waited for emergency responders: to make sure her German Shepherd, Hokie, was taken care of.

Clark was transported to a hospital, but doctors were unable to save her.

Her roommate, Jayden Hernandez, later shared memories of the trip, saying the group had visited one of their favorite locations in Central Florida.

Hernandez recalled that they had even joked about the possibility of an alligator being nearby while standing in the shallow, murky water — never imagining that the conversation would soon become a tragic reality.

Clark’s death has since drawn attention to the dangers of entering natural waterways in areas where alligators are known to live, while friends and family continue to remember her as a loving person and devoted animal lover.
