Hayden Panettiere Was Taken Out of LA Apartment on a Gurney Twice While Living With Brian Hickerson, Neighbor Claims

New details about Hayden Panettiere’s troubled final years have emerged following the actress’ death, with a former Los Angeles neighbor claiming she saw the “Heroes” star being carried out of her apartment on a gurney on two separate occasions while she was living with Brian Hickerson.
Mia Terrazzas, who lived near Panettiere’s West Hollywood apartment, told media outlets that she repeatedly witnessed disturbing incidents involving the actress and Hickerson, her on-again, off-again boyfriend.
Terrazzas claims she saw Panettiere being taken away by emergency responders twice — once in July 2023 and again in January 2024.
On both occasions, the neighbor said Panettiere appeared to have visible injuries.
“I saw her leave, I think twice, in a gurney being taken away,” Terrazzas said, according to reports. “She appeared to be injured.”
The neighbor also recalled seeing what she described as bruises and bright red marks on Panettiere.

Terrazzas said she became increasingly alarmed by what she heard coming from the actress’ apartment, claiming arguments and disturbances occurred repeatedly.
She said she contacted police multiple times because she feared Panettiere was in danger.
At one point, Terrazzas claims she saw Panettiere being taken from the building while Hickerson was nearby.
The allegations have renewed scrutiny of Panettiere’s complicated relationship with Hickerson, who had a documented history of domestic violence charges involving the actress.

Hickerson pleaded no contest in 2021 to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend stemming from incidents involving Panettiere. He was sentenced to jail time, probation and mandatory domestic-violence classes and was also subject to a restraining order.
Despite their turbulent history, Hickerson remained a recurring presence in Panettiere’s life.
Terrazzas claims his behavior around the apartment building was so alarming that residents became concerned for Panettiere’s safety.
She alleged that Hickerson once caused extensive damage inside the apartment, including using a sledgehammer in the bathroom during an early-morning incident.
The apartment’s homeowners association also reportedly posted notices warning residents about Hickerson and instructing them to contact police if they saw him trespassing. The notices were later removed.
“This predator was in our community,” Terrazzas said.
The neighbor’s account comes as questions surrounding Panettiere’s death continue to mount.
The actress, known for her roles in “Heroes,” “Nashville” and “Remember the Titans,” died Aug. 16 at the age of 36 after being found unresponsive at an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina.

Hickerson and his brother, Zach, were present when emergency responders arrived, according to a police report.
Paramedics attempted CPR, but Panettiere was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have said there were no signs of trauma or foul play, while the exact cause of death remains under investigation pending toxicology results. The DEA has also become involved in the investigation.
Hickerson has denied involvement in Panettiere’s death through his attorney and has asked that the investigation be allowed to proceed.
His history with Panettiere has nevertheless come under renewed scrutiny following her death.
In her 2026 memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” Panettiere publicly described the abuse she said she experienced during their relationship and detailed her struggles with addiction and recovery.

The actress had also been experiencing significant health problems in the months before her death. A close friend previously told Page Six that severe back pain had at times made it difficult for her to move her legs, and she was photographed using crutches at Los Angeles International Airport in March.
Panettiere traveled from Los Angeles to South Carolina with Hickerson just one day before her death.
Now, the neighbor’s claims about what she allegedly witnessed years earlier are adding another disturbing layer to the story of the actress’ final chapter.

However, the allegations made by the neighbor do not establish that Hickerson caused Panettiere’s death. Authorities have not accused him of wrongdoing in connection with her death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
