NBC and Telemundo News Helicopter Crash Leaves Three Dead in Chatsworth
A news helicopter used by NBC4 Los Angeles and Telemundo 52 crashed in the Chatsworth neighborhood of Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, killing at least three people.

The helicopter, operated by Angel City Air, was reportedly covering an earlier fatal collision involving an SUV and a bus when it crashed near a storage facility. The aircraft caught fire, damaging nearby vehicles and storage containers.

Reporter and Pilot Among Those Killed
Veteran reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw, both employees of Angel City Air, were among the people who died in the crash.

A third victim was found outside the helicopter. Two additional people were hospitalized, although their conditions have not been publicly confirmed in the initial reports.

More than 70 firefighters responded to the scene as emergency crews worked to control the fire and secure the area.

Crash Happened While Covering Another Deadly Accident
The helicopter was in the area to report on an earlier crash involving an SUV and a bus. That collision had already resulted in fatalities and injuries before the helicopter went down.

The two incidents occurred in close proximity, creating a devastating sequence of events for the Los Angeles community and local news organizations.

Authorities Investigate the Cause
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the helicopter crash.
