Karen Solomon, the Massachusetts fugitive suspected in the death of her cop husband, is believed to have been found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said Monday.

Cops are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.

Solomon, 58, went missing and was “presumed armed and dangerous” after her husband, veteran police officer Kurt Solomon, was found dead in their home on Aug. 18, Worcester Police said.

A gun was found alongside her body, according to police.

Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier told reporters at a press briefing that cops responded to a report of a dead body in a wooded area around 12:50 p.m. Monday.

“Upon further examination, we believe this person to be Karen Solomon,” the chief said. “In addition to the surrounding area, we did locate a handgun in the area of the body.”

Saucier said the body was found just over a half mile from Coes Pond, where Solomon was last seen walking into the water on the surveillance video footage.

Police were dispatched to the Worcester home on a call of a medical emergency, only to find the veteran cop dead and his wife missing.

Kurt Solomon was a 31-year veteran of the Worcester Police Department.

His wife was the author of two books “Hearts Beneath the Badge” and “The Price They Pay” – and was a leading advocate for first responders, founding the group First H.E.L.P.

Saucier said there was no history of domestic violence between the Solomons.

“At no time did the Solomon family have any history of domestic abuse,” he told reporters. “I want to make myself absolutely clear at this point that has nothing to do with this case. We believe this case is a tragic murder-suicide that occurred.”
