🌍 In 2024, a heartbreaking case reached Richmond Animal Care & Control (RACC) when a small kitten arrived with severe injuries after being shot in the face. The attack left the young cat, later named Absolute, permanently blind after he lost both of his eyes. 💔
👩⚕️ Veterinarians immediately worked to save the kitten’s life. Despite the trauma and pain he had endured, staff at the shelter noticed something remarkable about him — Absolute never stopped purring and constantly leaned in for affection and cuddles. 🐾💛
🐱 The two-year-old kitten quickly became known among shelter workers for his gentle personality and incredible resilience. Even without sight, he remained trusting, affectionate, and curious about the people caring for him.
🏡 After sharing his story and searching carefully for the right home, the shelter finally found a family ready to welcome him. The adoption marked a new chapter for the brave little survivor.
🐾 Today, Absolute lives safely indoors in a loving home where he receives the care and attention he deserves. He also shares his life with other cats who help guide him as he learns to navigate the world without sight.
✨ His story is a powerful reminder that even after cruelty and hardship, kindness and compassion can give animals a second chance at happiness. 🐱💛
