THE family of a new mom who disappeared from a laundromat while seeking a ride home remain hopeful they can locate their loved one as the search effort nears a month.

Friday will mark one month since Courtney Reese sent her final text messages to her relatives from a laundromat in Donelson, Tennessee, a neighborhood of Nashville, on the afternoon of August 18.

Reese’s uncle dropped her off at the laundromat at around 1pm, where the missing mom, 36, told him she was going to do a load while she waited for a friend to get off work.

But hours later, Reese began texting relatives asking if they were available to pick her up.

Bonnie Oliver, Reese’s mother, also received a text from her daughter at around 5:50pm, but at the time she said she was unavailable – a decision the distraught mom has since come to regret.

“She wanted me to come get her, and at that moment I couldn’t,” Oliver told The U.S. Sun.

“And that’s like my biggest regret right now was not dropping what I was doing and go straight to get her.”

Oliver said she’s been calling her daughter’s cell phone daily in hopes that someone will respond, but the calls go straight to voicemail.

Friend Ashlee Torbett told The U.S. Sun the family has reviewed surveillance footage that captured Reese exiting the laundromat on foot.

Torbett said Reese is pictured up the street toward a Domino’s pizza and was seen hanging around the shop on her phone, texting and making calls.

The friend believes that the video showed Reese calling and texting her relatives asking if someone could pick her up.

“It was very apparent that she was looking for a ride,” Torbett said, adding that nothing about Reese’s demeanor in the video appeared out of character.

“At that point is when she texted her mother. Her mother was not available at that moment to come get her.”

Torbett said it’s still unknown if Reese eventually got a ride from the friend she was planning on meeting or if she hitched a ride with a stranger.

Reese’s brother said he spoke to a manager at a Mapco Mart, less than half a mile from the Domino’s pizza, who reported seeing the 36-year-old on the day she vanished, Torbett said.

“But outside of that, there’s nothing,” she added.

“She’s not gone on any busses. She didn’t hang out at a restaurant.

“You would think with as much camera footage and how everything is on camera and everything’s digitized that a camera would have caught something and it didn’t.”

Oliver, Reese’s mother, said Metro Nashville Police detectives told the family that video captured the missing mom washing her clothes inside the laundromat.

“They’ve seen her washing clothes, and that she changed her shirt before she left there,” Oliver said.

“She had a black T-shirt on, and when she left there she had put a red one on.

“And that she went down the sidewalk, they picked her up on a couple other videos between the laundromat and then right there at Domino’s, it’s like she vanishes.”

Oliver said she’s been devastated since her daughter went missing, saying through tears, “I’ve been a mess. I’ve been a hot mess, and I’m trying so hard.”

“I’m not the same person right now. Everything goes through your mind. Not knowing is incredibly, incredibly hard. I just want to help bring her home,” she added.

“It’s an awful feeling inside not knowing where your child is. And I know she’s 36, but she’ll always be my baby.”

Reese’s family is offering $2,500 for information about her whereabouts.

She has black hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and jean shorts.
