THE self-described crime junkie who was arrested after allegedly filming jurors in the Lindsay Clancy trial was seen sprinting out of court following her arraignment.

Dawn Light, 56, pleaded not guilty after she allegedly waited outside the Plymouth, Massachusetts courthouse for Clancy to come out to and instead captured video of the jurors.

Light was arraigned in court on Wednesday morning after she was charged with one count of intimidating a witness, juror or person furnishing information in a criminal proceeding.

Officials alleged that a video of a juror was found in the “recently deleted” file in her phone’s camera roll.

She was allegedly spotted outside of the Plymouth County Superior Court in a restricted area and told an officer she was there to “see if she could see Lindsay Clancy come out of the courthouse.”

Light, a Massachusetts mom of three, was “adamant that she had not filmed anyone leaving the courthouse,” according to court documents reviewed by The U.S. Sun.

Light was swarmed by microphones and TV cameras as she left the courthouse soon after being ordered to stay away from the courthouse, not to interact with any jurors or witnesses in Clancy’s trial, and not to share any material she captured relating to the allegation.

“Alright, I want to go to my car,” she said as she stood by her lawyer while reporters shouted questions about her intentions behind allegedly filming jurors.

The U.S. Sun asked Light how she felt after being arrested, to which she snapped, “How would you feel if you were arrested?”

“How do you feel that you’re a celebrity now?” one person shouted as Light turned around and laughed.

When asked why the photos were deleted, she replied “they weren’t.”

When asked to explain her alleged actions, she told reporters, “There is no explanation.”

Camera crews and reporters chased after Light as she tried to walk away, where one person could be heard saying, “You can run but you can’t hide.”

Light, a retired nurse, could be seen being embraced by a man moments before she tried running away from the media, pushing past cameras and through the parking lot.

One man could be heard saying, “Dawn, don’t run. Don’t run. Dawn, stop it.”

When asked why she was in the parking lot on Tuesday, she told reporters “To see Lindsay, and I did see her. She was getting picked up by the van,” before her attorney cut her off by saying “no comment.”

Clancy is transported each day of her trial via a sheriff’s office van from Tewksbury State Hospital, where she has been held for most of the last three years.

“Why try to ruin it [the trial]?” one reporter asked, as the man seen with her said, “She didn’t try to ruin it.”

Light appeared with a straight face in her mugshot, that was revealed in court documents regarding her case.

Before her arraignment on Wednesday, Light spoke with CT Insider, saying she quickly lowered her phone after realizingshee filmed someone who was not Clancy.

She said a court employee approached her and asked if she worked at the courthouse.

The employee asked for Light’s phone and driver’s license after she said no, and then a state trooper was called over who took her phone and handcuffed her, she said.

“That’s the long and the short of it,” Light told CT Insider. “I don’t know how I intimidated anyone.”

Light described herself as a crime junkie who has attended multiple days of Clancy’s blockbuster murder trial.

She has also attended other-high profile trials, including Alex Murdaugh’s in South Carolina and Karen Read’s, which also took place in Massachusetts.

“The sanctity of the judicial system is at risk because of her actions. It’s an extremely serious matter for the Commonwealth and the integrity of the proceedings,” prosecutors said at her arraignment.

The judge opted not to order Light be held on a $50,000 cash bail despite the prosecution’s request.

Light’s attorney said the 56-year-old has lived in Sutton, Massachusetts for over 30 years “and raised her children there.”

“She is not a flight risk and obviously has strong ties to the community.

“My client was seeking a picture of Ms. Clancy and had no intention of any interaction with the jurors.”

Light is due back in court in October.

Jurors in Clancy’s case were sworn in one by one on Wednesday when they returned for deliberations following Light’s arrest.

Only on one other occasion had jurors been sworn in individually, which was when a silent rally of hundreds in support of Clancy took place outside of the courthouse.

If jurors determine Clancy is guilty of murdering her three children—Cora, Dawson, and Calla— in January 2023, they could convict her of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, or manslaughter.

If they believe the prosecution did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Clancy acted deliberately, she could be acquitted or found not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility, which her attorney argued in her case.

Court ended on Wednesday with jurors saying for a second time that they were unable to reach a unanimous decision, forcing the judge to use a sort of “last-ditch” effort at reaching a verdict.

The 12 jurors were dismissed for the day just after 4pm and will return on Thursday for more deliberations.
